Antiques Roadshow - Sat, October 13, 2007
Our own friendly version of the Antiques Roadshow in the Kingston Parish Hall with expert Kevin Bond and lots of Kingston Peninsula Hospitality! Do you have a family heirloom or a flea market find that has you burning with curiosity? Or maybe you're planning to find something perfect next Saturday morning and bring it along before it's even hit your living room! $10 will get you an informal appraisal of one item (or $25 for three) and tea and sweets to enjoy while you admire everyone else's treasures. Ferry ride and beautiful fall scenery are free. Proceeds support the Anglican Parish of Kingston outreach ministries

Location: Kingston Parish Hall at Kingston Historic District, corner of Route 845 and Route 850 (5km right off Gondola Point Ferry)

Hand Embroidery
Interested in learning hand embroidery, new technigues, or starting from the beginning? The Kingston Peninsula Stitchers Guild (Embroiderers Association of Canada) is your place to learn all these things. We meet every two weeks, the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, 7:30 to 9:30. For more information, contact Anne Titus at 763 -2470 or Mitzi Withers at 763-2620.

Peninsula Heritage Inc. meets every third Thursday, February through to June (we use that meeting as the opening of the summer gallery show!). Then we re-group, meeting September through December (which we use as our Christmas party).

Peninsula Heritage Inc. operates the Heritage Garden, the John Fisher Memorial Museum, and the 1810 Carter House. The John Fisher Memorial Museum is a collection of about 2000 peninsula artifacts, items either made/used/ on the peninsula. The collection is housed in the permanent collection area down the stairs of the Macdonald Consolidated School. The 1810 Carter House also operates as a tea room and gift shop. We are also involved in other projects such as the heritage designation of the intersection as Kingston Historic District, and the heritage signage.
